One company that has filled its own niche admirably and effectively is Duncraft. Yes, they do have a retail location, and their catalog business has always been strong, but the internet allowed them to proceed to the next level. A company built almost entirely around our enjoyment of birds, Duncraft (and their internet arm, Duncraft.com) has enjoyed healthy success for over fifty years. The products that they bring to the market are of the highest quality, but still remain reasonably priced. Their vast array of bird houses and feeders, specialty foods, houses and baths are all designed to bring the enjoyment of watching wild birds directly to your front yard. They also carry a number of bird books, as well as binoculars and other items to make your bird watching a bit easier. Their website is an admirable addition to an already excellent retail operation. The site has a great color scheme and an informative, easy-to-follow layout. The images are wonderful, with the many bird pictures lending credence to product function. This is a great site for any bird lover, be they a long-time watcher or a neophyte giving it a whirl. If you like birds, check this one out. |
