Finding the right music can be harder than you might think. There are just so many choices out there, especially now. When anyone with a little bit of initiative can climb onto a computer and track down almost anything, making choices can become exceedingly difficult. Of course, anyone who tells themselves that MP3s are going to replace CDs anytime soon is a bit delusional. MP3s are wonderful and convenient, but reports of the CD’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. That being said, where should we go to make music purchases? Well, you could do a lot worse than a visit to the Barnes and Noble website’s Music section. These folks have assembled an inventory consisting of hundreds of thousands of albums, not to mention tens of thousands of artist’s biographies and customer reviews. The search function is as comprehensive as they come, with a thousand different styles from which to choose. You can’t get much more specific than that. There are also numerous RealPlayer samples available, allowing you to listen to bits and pieces of songs and albums that intrigue you. Add to these the best seller lists, the new section, site recommendations, and a bargain section; what you’re left with is an absolutely top-notch retail music site. The aesthetics of the site are excellent, with a nice use of color and image that is easy on the eyes. Navigation is a dream; it’s difficult to find anything to dislike about this site. If you’re music shopping, then a stop at Barnes and Noble will serve you well. |
