The history of children’s television is a rich one, filled with successes and failures, just like any other entertainment industry. Still, it’s different somehow with children’s television. When we watch these programs, we are spending significant time with the characters at our most formative. Bonds are developed; special affection for our favorites remains with us years after we’ve “grown up.” The current generation of children is enjoying a variety of programming that up until recently was unheard of. There are entire networks devoted to children’s programming, and one of the best is Nickelodeon. The folks at Nick and especially Nick Jr. bring fine quality fare into your home. They manage to walk a fine line; some of their programs are entertainment for entertainment’s sake, but those are balanced by programs that have a more educational bent. The merchandise available at NickJr.com is a fine illustration of that commitment to customer service. They have products available that feature characters from many of their wonderful programs. Characters such as Spongebob Squarepants, the Fairly Oddparents, and Jimmy Neutron are reflective of Nickelodeon’s irreverent attitude towards kid shows. No one wants to be preached at, least of all children. You can buy a wide variety of merchandise; books, toys, games, apparel, and even furniture…all of it featuring your child’s favorite television shows. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the products is top-notch. This is a bright, fun site for children and adults alike to shop.
