It’s hard not to love Disney movies. Even when they aren’t instant classics, they’re still good fun for everybody. There are levels to Disney movies, especially the more recent releases. Yeah, they’re aimed at kids, but there is more than enough there for any self-respecting intelligent adult to chuckle. They’re fun and funny, and like it or not, they mean something to the kids. They really do. These characters are ingrained in the psyches of our children. They have an impact. They mean something. Yes, it’s all in good fun, but we cannot afford to ignore how much some of these characters mean to our children and to us. Disney has established a Disney Movie Club, allowing us to gain immediate and affordable access to over 125 films from the Disney catalog. Here’s how it works: upon initial signup, you will select three movies from their inventory. These are essentially free. All you must do is promise to purchase six more movies within the next year. Approximately four weeks after receiving your initial selections, you will receive notification (either by postcard or e-mail) of that months Featured Selection. You may choose to purchase that selection, or select from a list of five alternates. You may also choose not to make a selection that month. As long as you purchase the requisite six movies within a year, everything is smooth sailing. The site that Disney has created is attractive and easy to use, with plenty of color and activity to go along with the faces that we all know and love. This club is wonderful for any fan of Disney’s canon and a great way to build up your child’s movie collection. |
