There is a very distinct appeal to all things Hawaiian. We love the idyllic nature of island life. It calls to something inside us. The joie de vivre that seems inherent in the Hawaiian lifestyle is something that many of us wish we had in our own lives. We strive for that sort of relaxed attitude. This appeal is what makes a company such as Hilo Hattie a successful one. Hilo Hattie is a company that sells all things Hawaiian, and not just the standard fare of brightly colored shirts and grass skirts. No, Hilo Hattie brings us all manner of Hawaiian fare, from apparel to food to music. To compliment their sizable retail chain, the folks at Hilo have given us HiloHattie.com. Visually, this is one of the more interesting retail sites that you’re going to see. There are many bright colors and interesting graphic images...lots of greens and oranges. It’s all very tropical. However, this fun and interesting look did not come at the expense of navigability; quite the opposite, in fact. The layout of this site makes finding what you’re looking for very easy. Still, a fun site should have fun products, no? Well, in this respect, Hilo Hattie again comes through in a big way. The inventory here is just wonderful…a few extra minutes of browsing can be quite rewarding. Yes, the shirts and such are gorgeous, but can you think of any other website where you can buy a bag of soft cuttlefish AND jewelry kit that includes extracting your own pearl? In addition, there’s a Fun Stuff section with recipes and an aide to speaking Hawaiian. Seriously, how cool is that? This is a fun and fantastic site that is definitely worth some of your time.
