There are certain stores out there that defy definition. You can try to categorize and pigeonhole until you’re blue in the face, but at the end of the day, you can’t come up with any sort of simple description. For the Vermont Country Store, the closest would probably be “department store”, but that doesn’t really do the store justice. They are exactly what their name says they are…a country store. So what if they have a large inventory and significant internet presence? They’re still a country store, and country stores have to fill as many niches as possible. The site itself is a good one. The coloration and layout combine to create an easily navigated and aesthetically pleasing shopping experience. The fun part, however, is the inventory. This place has a little bit of everything. The only way to describe it is as a whole lot of really neat stuff. Where else can you go and buy quality apparel, new shoes, some genuine Vermont maple syrup, wool socks, and bay rum all at the same time? Seriously, the sheer variety of product here is almost overwhelming. Allow yourself plenty of time to browse, because there’s just so much to see. The products are great, the prices are extremely affordable, and the attitude is as down-home friendly as you’ll see. The Vermont Country Store has come up with an excellent online presence, and consumers around the world are luckier for it. Check this site out sometime; as soon as you start, you’ll have trouble stopping.
