One of the great things about internet retail is that it gives us access to companies and products that we may never have seen before, or even heard of. There are so many great companies out there, providing such great services, and we’ve never heard of many of them. This could be for a number of reasons. They could be a regional phenomenon, or perhaps they cater to a demographic that isn’t you. Whatever the reason, when you stumble upon one of these companies online, you’re going to at least check it out if your interest is piqued. One site that will most likely interest you is Lehmans.com. Why is this site interesting? The folks at Lehman’s sell products aimed at those living a non-electric lifestyle, that’s why. None of the items on this site use electricity, at least not in the traditional plugged-into-the-wall sense. They apparently have a good working relationship with the Amish, among other non-power using people. You can get almost any appliance you can think of here, and it all works without electricity. Lehman’s carries stoves and refrigerators, as well as various types of non-electric lighting, such as gas lamps. There are plenty of tools and books aimed at helping the customer transition more easily to a non-electric lifestyle. There are even solar panel setup kits for sale, allowing you to power a few appliances or even your entire home with nothing but the rays of the sun. Is there an irony in such a company having a website? Of course there is, but don’t think for a moment that these folks aren’t conscious of it. Even if you are firmly attached to your electricity, check out this site. It’s far too cool to miss. |
