Art is what separates us from the animals. Yes, it’s a cliché, but most clichés grow from roots of truth. We love beautiful things; things that catch the eye and ignite the brain. We love to make these things ourselves. There is a creative urge within all of us, but the opportunity to create can sometimes be hard to come by. Still, there are websites out there that give us that opportunity. One such site is Flaxart.com. Through this site and others like it, we are afforded the chance to either buy a unique and thought-provoking gift, or else buy the materials to make such a gift ourselves. Design wise, this site is top-notch. The graphics and color make for a visually entertaining experience. The layout is easy to follow and provides a lot of information without ruining the aesthetic with a lot of clutter. The site looks fantastic, and the inventory looks just as good. This is one of those sites that aim at a specific niche (in this case, arts and crafts folk) while still managing to be extremely eclectic and carrying a little something for everybody. The focus of the site is art and design, but their gift section is wonderful, too, with all manner of neat stuff. There are also sections devoted to journals, wearable art, kid’s stuff, and home décor. These products are all high-quality and affordable, too. Another great thing about the site is the creative resources link, which lets the customer learn more about assorted crafts. This is an excellent site, and just about everyone will find something of interest here. |
